Certified by the Textile Exchange, the manufacturing process for nylon recycling from material reclamation to finished product is closely monitored. Exploiting textile waste, discarded fishing nets, and other recyclables, RCS polyamide meets the Global Recycled Standard as established and monitored by the Textile Exchange. RCS polyamide also reduces Urban Expressions’ carbon footprint by decreasing the environmental impact of the processes involved in virgin nylon production.

The use of reclaimed polyamide fiber is more sustainable than virgin polyamide for several reasons. The first reason is Urban Expressions’ carbon footprint. Fewer resources like water and crude oil are implicated in recycled nylon. Less energy is used to produce it. There’s also a concurrent decrease in waste, reducing emissions that provoke harmful greenhouse gas.
